Ariat Womens Legend Riding Boot Review

These sassy square-toed boots are more comfortable than tennis shoes yet stand up to a hard day of riding. You can barrel race in them, wear them to the office, dress them up with a skirt or dress them down with jeans. They are rugged enough for tough work in the stirrups and attractive enough for non-horse-related activities.

“These all leather boots have no break-in period.”

Ariat has definitely produced a great product with the Ariat Womens Legend Boot:  it works for even the pickiest of people and anyone who puts on a pair raves about how comfortable they are. These all leather boots have no break-in period.

Additional foot support and cushioning comes from the company’s Advanced Torque Stability (ATS) Technology, which allows you to walk all day in these boots without foot fatigue. As well as resisting wear, the Duratread™ rubber outsole acts as a shock absorber when your feet are in the stirrups or on the ground.  The happy result is that you can wear these western riding boots straight out of the box all day in the office or in the saddle.

The square toe gives the foot enough room, and the 2 inch heel is just right for both keeping the boot in the stirrup and providing extra comfort when you’re out of the saddle.

You can wear this boot around the barn whatever the weather: mind mud and muck won’t ruin them.

However, Ariat does suggest using Scotchguard or Kiwi waterproofing sprays to enhance their water resistance. This will give you added peace of mind if you are going to wear this boot in inclement weather conditions. Ariat recommends the Cadillac and Kiwi brands for taking proper care of the leather.

In each case just spray/apply a little of the product on the inner ankle area to make sure it isn’t going to alter the color of the leather or smooth the nap of the distressed leather.

Many buyers have commented that Amazon.com has the best prices, too.

You will love these boots so much that you’ll want to join others who have bought a second pair, so they can have one for barn activities and another for ‘best.’

For most people the sizes run a little large, so it’s a good idea to order a half size down from your normal boot for optimal fit. If they feel a little tight in the beginning, they will give after a short time.

Summary

This cute yet functional western boot is so versatile and comfortable that you can wear it on horseback or for looking smart out of the saddle.

The importance comfortable riding boots…

If you lose your horse while out riding, it’s less painful if you’re wearing a pair of comfortable riding boots while you look for him.

You might think it wouldn’t be that easy to misplace a horse, but I assure you it can happen.

My husband had bought a fabulous Thoroughbred at a great price while we lived in Italy, and a friend of ours who was a great rider wanted to see how she performed over cross-country fences. So a group of us took our new mare to the perfect location, with plenty of trees to provide shade for the onlookers, as it was a pretty hot day. My husband was unaware of this undertaking.

The jet black mare was built for jumping. Our friend rode her beautifully over some pole fences and she did so well, it was time to tackle a ditch.

As it turned out, that was a big mistake!

The powerful mare stopped at the edge of the ditch. Her rider thought she was refusing but she was actually checking out the distance across the gap. Suddenly the horse launched into the air and hurled herself over.

But she landed badly on the other side and her front legs buckled underneath her. She fell, fortunately throwing our friend clear instead of landing on her.

The black horse scrambled to her feet and galloped off unhurt into the surrounding woods.

We searched for hours for that mare and couldn’t find her. Finally we went to the police to let them know a horse was lost in the forest, but they weren’t interested in helping us.

How was I to explain to my husband that I had lost his horse?

One of the group suggested praying to St. Anthony, who helps people find missing things. So I did, and four hours later we discovered her happily munching grass, not a hundred yards from the ditch where she fell.

Our friend, who was supposed to have been riding the whole time, did a lot of unplanned walking that day. Which shows how important it is to have riding boots that are comfortable for all day wear in and out of the saddle.

Summary

This cute yet functional boot is so versatile and comfortable that you can wear it on horseback or for looking smart out of the saddle.
