Justin Boots Womens Gypsy Boot Review

Justin Boots Women’s Gypsy Boots are tough enough to be ridden in daily, and this practical side makes them popular with women who ride Western. These boots look fabulously dressy when you are on and off your horse: their rugged chic, and the harness detail on the leather uppers, ensure these boots are also a firm favorite with ladies who don’t ride.

They come in a wide variety of great colors including pink, turquoise, black and gold, red and black pearl. With their pretty stitching your boots make a fashion statement at the same time as being functional enough to wear around the barn.

Not only do these womens riding boots look good with most outfits (although if you want to tuck jeans into them, use the straight leg type), they also have a high level of comfort thanks to the flexible memory foam midsole, flexible rubber sole and wide toe. The technology in these Western boots means they feel great the moment you take them out of the box, and they have no break-in time.

My Neighbors Are Avid Western Riders

My neighbor is an avid Western rider with a beautiful paint gelding, who owns the farm across from my place with acres of trails winding between hay fields and rolling horse pastures.

Every year she hosts a riding day for members of our state trail riding association. People come from miles around to enjoy the fabulous scenery with their equine buddies. On that day her front fields are chock full with trailers of all kinds – tag-along, gooseneck, stock trailers, step-ups and trailers with ramps – you name it, it’s there.

All day long, an interesting variety of horse breeds emerge from their mixed modes of transport. After a lot of stomping and whinnying they’re saddled up and ready to find their way to the start of the trail. The riders are divided into groups of three or four which leave at fifteen minute intervals.

From my house I mentally wish them fun, as I watch them sitting in their Western saddles and donning Western boots. Mercifully most are wearing hard helmets instead of cowboy hats.

The problem is, every year something goes wrong.

Those of us in the immediate vicinity with horses at home are careful not to ride on this particular day, because you never know what’s going to happen each year. Riding out in a group can be great fun, but some horses deal with the situation better than others. And there are always those equines which would rather not be off the farm at all.

Such, I think, was the problem with one of this year’s trail horses.

“I heard the unmistakable thunder of hooves coming down the opposite hill”

I was cleaning stalls when my dressage horse suddenly pricked his ears, and I heard the unmistakable thunder of hooves coming down the opposite hill. Sure enough, a very large Ardennes horse was clattering back to my neighbor’s farm without a rider on his back.

On his far side I could see something which looked horribly like a human being hanging from the saddle. I rushed out of the house and ran over to stop the animal and rescue the hapless rider. Thankfully the chunky cold blood was running out of steam by the time I reached him, and I was able to grab the reins and bring him to a grinding halt.

With great relief I discovered that the mangled body was in fact one of the heavy Western stirrups, which had become caught in the reins.

Off in the far distance I saw a lone figure making her way home on foot without her horse. At least she was in one piece, but I can only hope her Western boots were as comfortable to walk in as the Justin Boots Women’s Gypsy Boot. She had a long trek ahead of her.

Summary

This reasonably priced boot is tremendous value for Western riding, and really dresses up regular clothes. If your looking for a flashy western boot that wont break the bank then these are for you.
